By accessing or using The Marian Curriculum ("The Marian Mystery and the Christian Life") at mariancurriculum.com, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Purpose, Beta Status & Ecclesiastical Disclaimer
The Marian Curriculum is an experimental pilot program in Catholic Mariology and contemplative spiritual formation. The material on this platform is currently in active draft and developmental status.
Ecclesiastical Authority: This curriculum represents a private educational and contemplative initiative compiled and edited by Fr. Jacob Gruber. It does not currently claim or possess the formal ecclesiastical authority of an imprimatur or nihil obstat, nor does it claim to be an exhaustive or magisterially binding definition of Catholic doctrine. It is not an official publication of any diocese, episcopal conference, or the Holy See.
2. AI Theological Companion Disclaimer & Service Availability
The AI Theological Companion is an automated study tool powered by generative artificial intelligence and grounded in the curriculum's texts.
- Not Pastoral Care or Spiritual Direction: The Companion is designed solely as an academic and reflective study aid. It does not provide pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, canon law advice, or sacramental ministry. It cannot and does not replace consultation with a priest, spiritual director, or qualified pastoral minister.
- No Magisterial Infallibility: While configured to reflect Catholic doctrine and the writings of Sacred Tradition, AI responses are algorithmic generations and may contain inaccuracies or incomplete explanations. Users are encouraged to verify references against authoritative ecclesiastical sources and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
- Acceptable Use & Rate Limits: Users agree to use the Companion charitably and responsibly. Automated scraping, attacks, or attempts to bypass rate limits are prohibited. Generous daily rate limits apply across all accounts to maintain server reliability and sustainable operational costs.
- No Guarantee of Perpetual Third-Party AI Compute: Curricular texts, synthesis commentaries, patristic primary sources, and master textbook editions are provided for permanent personal study. Online AI companion dialogues and dynamic voice synthesis are hosted cloud features dependent upon third-party artificial intelligence APIs. The Marian Curriculum reserves the right to adjust, throttle, or discontinue cloud-hosted AI endpoints if third-party provider costs, availability, technical parameters, or operational conditions change. No purchase or account confers a warranty of perpetual or indefinite third-party AI compute.
3. Intellectual Property, Translations & Fair Use
Original Material: The original commentaries, pedagogical frameworks, synthesized lessons, study guides, and audio narrations are © 2026 Fr. Jacob Gruber and The Marian Curriculum.
Primary Sources & Published Translations: This curriculum includes historical excerpts, patristic writings, magisterial documents, and sacred artworks. Primary sources, published English translations, and sacred art reproductions remain the property of their respective authors, translators, publishers, estates, or public domain archives. They are cited and presented here under fair-use principles for non-commercial educational scholarship, research, and private study.
Inquiries & Takedown Requests: If you are a copyright holder and believe any excerpt or translation requires updated attribution or removal, please contact us through the Scholar Feedback Desk for prompt resolution.
4. Cohort Passcodes & Full Scholar Access
Access to specific interactive features (including the AI Theological Companion and the master textbook PDF) is granted via cohort passcodes, individual scholar accounts, or paid application access. Passcodes are intended for individual scholars or designated study cohorts. Sharing credentials publicly or attempting to circumvent access controls is prohibited. Full Scholar Access unlocks current platform features and downloads; it does not constitute an open-ended contractual guarantee of perpetual third-party cloud computing or API service provision.
5. Study Journals & User Privacy
Personal journal reflections, study checklists, and margin notes created on the platform belong to you. We do not inspect, monetize, or publish your personal reflections. Please consult our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling, encryption, and local storage.
6. "As-Is" Provision & Limitation of Liability
The platform and its contents are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The Marian Curriculum and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the platform.
7. Amendments & Contact
We may update these Terms periodically as the curriculum evolves. Inquiries, feedback, or legal notices should be submitted via our Scholar Feedback & Inquiries Desk.
